Actually it is true go ask them. When it comes to counting whitetails if they have good conditions for counting they go if we have no snow they don't. Feel free to debate with them the logic between what they do out east vs what they do for mule deer but it doesn't change the fact that that is what they do. My guess the difference is the mule deer are counted in a much more compact area compared to the huge swaths it takes for the other areas so it removes some of the difficulty with a lack of snow.Not true. They have flown mule deer surveys, moose surveys, and big horn surveys in the past 5 years regardless of snow cover. We didn't have hardly any snow the past two winters and yet those surveys went off without fail. So why not White Tails????
