I would argue the proponents of this measure sound more like the clot shot pushers in that they both effort to force a radical idea with obvious shortcomings as if it will have no negative impacts or side effects.

Changing from one bad system to another bad system does not appeal to me.

How do you know the new system will be bad? We have been doing things the same way over and over and expecting a different outcome.

They had years to change the " bad system " after the 1st attempt to eliminated property taxes but the only thing they did was increase the taxes. They had their warning now it is time to act.

SOMETIMES ONE NEEDS TO THROW THE TEA INTO THE HARBOR FOR THOSE IN POWER TO GET THE HINT.

They tell us getting rid of property tax will be bad for us??? Really? We know the system we have now is totally fucked up! But now, all of a sudden they are concerned about us? They have had years to show their concern for us. They are extremely arrogant. They feel they can piss on your leg and tell you it's raining.........maybe they can, we shall see.

I haven’t decided yet how I’m going to vote on this but it seems like anything Rick Becker backs is a fucked up proposal.

All I can say is the people screaming against this are highly funded by people’s taxes. Look at the commercials they have come out with, all of them are 100% funded by the taxes so of course they are gonna scream about it. The things that need to be funded such as police and fire will still be funded…with a few more eyes on it then the city commisioners who magically were able to address property taxes this year in Bismarck. I am 100% fo this. Enough is enough and if this doesn’t work we can make a change again.

All these gov agencies that have come out against it are they using public money to campaign against the measure?
That would be my question….where is the money coming from? Sure hope they aren’t using the people’s money to make commercials against this.

Ah yes, fear mongering is when you bring up rational counter points. Gotcha. Automatically makes someone left leaning as well. Well shit, I guess I better start buying some rainbow t-shirts.
I mean….. 🤷🏻‍♂️ considering all the lefty trolls liked your post you may wanna look into group discounts for your rainbow shirts

Right, I think Becker would be better then the people we have in there now. He would vote with how ND residents(majority) want him to vote. Current ones definitely don't.
Is that why he never wins state wide elections? Sheesh!

Yep and they will take your birthday away and not invite you to anymore parties and totally eliminate the color blue…… 🙄. Fear mongering is strong here. You guys sound like you just came from a diddy party….. you’re A-ok getting raped for fear of getting raped harder…..got a hunch you guys fell for the vaccine too didn’t you?
You still haven't read the measure in its entirety yet have you? You and everyone else, especially the media like to keep saying this will get rid of property tax. How? Its only going to get rid of property tax based on accessed value. Can still be taxed on square footage or some other value that by passing this meaure your allowing the legislature to decide. Legislature hasn't fucked us over at in the last few years. lol

I get it you, me, and everyone else is tired of property tax, but this measure isn't going to end it. I'm a bit disappointed in Becker for bragging this up. I don't think even he has read the measure.

If you or anyone can show me how this gets rid of property tax please do, I'd love to vote Yes on it but the way its written now I cannot.

You’re correct. However it’s the assessed value that rises 10-15% every year so my taxes do as well. So eliminating that is a plus. My square footage hasn’t changed at all over the years.

Exactly! Assessed value increases but the mill rates never decrease so they just spend more every year!
