Actually the "Sheeple" just want a damn plan. Not a bunch of "they can or they could". Hopefully Becker and his cronies that put this together go back and actually put a real plan together for next time. I know a ton of people that would have voted for it if there was a shred of a plan, me included. Don't leave it up to the officials in Bismarck to come up with the plan.

Glad this went down! Why should people in western ND pay for our stuff? All this bill did was take from those people who have oil rights to pay for everyone else’s stuff. Pay for your own local government.

If it wouldn't have ended property tax, just the valuation, why wasn't it written that way? If people were worried about homes being seized after being taxed out of them, why wasn’t that the bill? Why would you want to see new proposed taxes and levies for eternity as the population and dollar value ebbs and flows. Just because there were unanswered questions after some critical thinking doesn’t mean anyone was fear mongering or a scared sheep.

Why does farmers, who have been paying taxes on land since before American became a country and recieves government subsidized payments not pay taxes. Why does trillion dollar companies like Vanguard and Blackrock get to buy up local property and not have to pay taxes. Why does billionaires like Bill Gates get to buy property up and not have to pay taxes. Why does low income housing apartment complexs not pay taxes and still recieve government taxes for rent. If north dakota wants to change how taxes are structured then elect those who make those decisions.

I don't believe taxation can not be voted in by the people as it is the responsibility of the legislative branch to come up with the laws. Now the people can vote down the laws that they don't like by changing the constitution but they can't make new laws.

Those that voted down the property tax measure could have at least passed the marijuana measure so we could have been happy when writing the property tax check.
