I plugged some numbers for my boat. At WOT I do right around 60 mph and get 2.5mpg. That's 48 gallons for a 120 mile run. I'd have about 5 gallons left.
At 45mph I get about 4mpg. That 120 mile run would eat 30 gallons of gas.
The trip would be 2 hours at 60 and 2.67 hours at 45 mph. Either way, I'd need to fill at least once and plan for 20 minutes to fill. With it calm this morning, and wanting some chop to aid the bite, I'd take it easy heading out and white knuckle it home.

Wonder how much the places that have gas bumped the price per gallon for today and tomorrow?
Pretty captive audience with no other choices.....what a monopoly it could be!

You guys ever have a day of fishing scheduled, you watch the weather/wind forecast for the days leading up to your day on the water. You get up early that morning, calm-clear sky, hook up the boat and head for the water. On your way, you notice trees/grass being blown a little more than expected. You stop at the bait shop, grab what you need...as you walk out of the store it feels a little breezy...you think to yourself "damn, the 5 sites I just checked all showed winds no more than 10mph today". You get to the ramp...look out on the lake and realize-if I wanna fish I gotta fight the wind today. This is North Dakota...and wind is the devil!

I wish I could screw up at my job as much as the weather man and still keep my job.

well since we are now talking about wind... I guess I may as well say it... next week I am signing new papers on a new boat and getting rid of the ranger I went out on the warrior test ride event last sunday (the 7th) when the winds were gusting to 45 mph... that test ride proved to me that rangers are a good boat, just not designed for north dakota's light breeze... I am trading up to a Warrior 21-21 with a suzuki... I have never been in a boat that was that smooth

Did it have the trim tabs i rode in a warrior with those and wow i dont think i would buy a boat with out them

I understand the bulk of the warmer water is in the upper extremes of the lake but there are plenty of spots within 20 mins of launch site with lots of walleyes very, very shallow right now. I hope a local "Garrisonite" has figured that out. Best of luck and hoping for a safe tournament for all.

North of the New Town bridge the bite is crazy. Easy to get your limit in a 1/2 hour. However getting kicker fish is the problem. I would say that you did very well if you were able to get 18lbs a day. Fishing is slower the closer you get to Garrison but not impossible to bring in the same weight as out west. It will turn out like most tourneys, the lucky few that get the right bites.

Must not have rode in a nitro or big yar yet#$%^&>

nitro's have full carpet (not snap in) and are a mall boat #$%^&> and yarcraft is fast yes... but it's laid out by a 3 year old and has too much wasted space... yar's are fast because all the weight is shifted to the back with the huge front deck they have...
