You are correct V here is the epic thread on Toby, Tina, and camoman26. I just had to have the right word and camoman26 was it becuase Toby wouldn't kick any out

The US gets ridiculed by Europeans for not having state healthcare but it actually mostly does. Veterans, children, and elderly get free or some healthcare from the state through the VA, chip, medicare, healthcare.gov, etc all subsidize healthcare.

The state now almost completely controls healthcare. Established hospital companies are protected from competition. State money influences medical policies. The whole system is such a mess. You cant cant even go to the front desk and get prices quoted for services.

Imo, the state is now regressing healthcare especially since covid. Advancements born out of competition seem to have stopped. Doctors no longer have freedom to excercise their own ideas to help patients. I view doctors like cops now, they simply follow orders. Universities just tell doctors what to think and then they just follow orders according to policy to avoid being fired or sued. Or worse, jailed for breaking the law.
