These crappy winter storms seem to have a way of bringing out the old stories and memories…some cherished and some not so much.
All the same it seems like a silver lining, even reading about some of yours from a time during which I didn’t exist.

Another 5 to 8 on the way for north central. Mainly along and north of hwy 2 for the heavier amounts.

half inch rain end of next week on top of the snow should be fun

The street dept never did clean the street in front of our house of 2-3 feet of snow. Only path there was what i snowplow in order for us to get out.
Crew not working today so hire contractor to clean street as family coming for easter and need a place to park. Just lower the bill off our water bill next month. I am sure that will be just fine. Neighbors our happy now too. db

Good luck getting that reduced. We get zero break when our garbage man is unable to make it around for the week. BS

Should be filling up the pot holes for the ducks. We could take the moisture down here now

For Minot or the general area? I see a good batch of rain on the radar for this coming weekend in Bismarck.

Screenshot_20240127-223928_X.jpg Eastern Montana was below 50% just last week. This changed things big time for them.

I don't think you understand what you're looking at. That is a percentage of stored water as snow/ice/whatever compared to the historical average for this time of year.

This may bring us closer to normal for this time of year with snow in the mountains, but it doesn't replace what has already been missed.

Low water ramps are already to go down here . It would take an event that would live in the history books to fill Oahe up. Like 17 inches of rain over a couple days in Montana wouldn’t even do it this time.

Better make sure your sump pumps are up to par. They are saying an inch of moisture next weekend on top of all this snow just not sure what form yet. When the smoke clears the temps will jump and there will be a quick melt.

The next 10 days has minot with 40 for the highest temp and freezing every night. Down here mid 50 and lows around freezing for the next 10 days.

Just ran the GFS model for this next weekend.....OMG...we could see lots of rain here in the western ND before it changes over to snow.

Hoping it dumps a bunch on W SD before it piss pounds ND again. We need every bit we can get! An inch of rain will at least mean some grass and a first cutting of hay. Models are looking impressive depending on where it lands!
