Identity of the separate company seems like an odd detail for a reporter to fail to address. Why did the competing vendors not pay this other company half? A reasonable answer might exist - but leaving that answer out is curious.

Why would they pay a separate company at all? You would think if somebody rents the event center the payment would go directly to the even center...why the middle man?

Yet you read and responded to the post.....to answer your question yes it does have to do with some peoples everyday life in the outdoors..as an example.. were we paying to much for beer because it didn't go out to bid like it was suppose to? That may have been one more bait I could have purchased....

Yes I did start to read it. I read every post until I decide if it’s something worth my time. Lately it’s about 20% of the posts that have any interest to me. The rest is just garbage like this thread. This is just my opinion though, I hope I’m still entitled to my opinion on here, not sure anymore.

20%? Sounds like you should just get rid of this website...misery sucks. Hope you have better view on life when people are having a conversation similar to what takes place at 6am over coffee with fellows friends. We should start a skeeter only thread that have topics just for you...would that help increase it to 30%?

If you think the government at any level is looking out for your best interests you need to have your head examined, most are there to line their own pockets. They also bog us down with regulations, paperwork, and fees to justify their jobs.

The difference is the government has control over most aspects of ones life while you are forced to pay the costs, private businesses only have control if you allow them to.

i've sat on many boards which are sorta like mini-governments. there are certainly two groups of people that end on on those things and i surmise governments are pretty similar. those who are absolutely doing it for some sort of personal reason and those that have nothing to gain and a bunch of time, energy and stress to loose. there seems to be no middle and the dichotomy couldn't be more glaring to those involved. at the "board" level, its probably like a 80% with nothing to gain and 20% personal reasons. with each step you take up the ladder, the shift moves the other way quite quickly.

Still stand by the statement the only person that has your best interests in mind is yourself. Yes private business you can choose..but govt you can choose by a vote..yes majority wins but still doesn't take away the fact your best to do for yourself whether it's private or public.

I must have been one of the few that had the peoples interest come first.
Sat on many boards and I always told the people, friendships are checked at the door, as I will rule or vote on what is the law or what is correct. No exceptions.
