$500 deductible for myself and my wife would cost us around $3200 a month today where a $1750 deductible is around 2800 a monthIf $500 was available, given their ages I wouldn't buy it. You'll pay a lot less for a $2500.
Jesus, how do you afford that.$500 deductible for myself and my wife would cost us around $3200 a month today where a $1750 deductible is around 2800 a month
Jesus, how do you afford that.
I might not ever be able to retire.
I had the same last year and it was very good insurance. I ended up in the ER with pneumonia and broken ribs that took a turn for the worst. BCBS sent out year end statement what they paid and it was right at $ 100K . Our out of pocket was $ 1500.I retired at 65 and 9 months. I worked till my wife was 65. That is the reason I worked the extra 9 months. Being on Medicare and Blue Cross supplements I pay about 325.00 a month for both and they pay better than the United Healthcare insurance I had when I was working.
I wonder the samething how people can afford to retire before they can get Medicare and Supplements or Advantage plan.

I could be wrong but I believe once you go on social security and that is your only income you can go on the market and get rates based on your income, which should only be your social security check or checks if married.
