Give me a break. A 97 cummins with a 5 speed was rated at a whopping 440 ft lbs of torque. Most of the new gas pickups, regardless of make, could probably out pull it. The new diesels have around 1000 ft lbs of torque, regardless of make.
Kind of off topic, and I just thought that was a funny post.:;:stirthepot
97 cummins was the only thing good about that truck, still is.
GM's current 6.6 turbo duramax is 445 hp with 910 torq,Gm gas 6.6 direct injection 401hp and 464torq ...
I'm eye balling the chevy 1500 crew with duramax 3.0lit diesel,277hp with 460lbs/torq,trailering specs up to 9000lbs but why would ya,tail be wagging the dog, empty 40+mpgs which it would be 80% of the time or more.
wj,we already have $100k GM trucks, priced out a 3500 high country pkg diesel crew for $106k (2021) crazy....GM dealer north of the cities advertised a 2021 suburban loaded LTZ for $90k $20k over sticker.
