Majority of the revenue to fund the federal, state, county and city highway systems come from taxes on gas diesel fuels. How is going work with electric vehicles using the highway systems and not paying for their use?

depends on the state, new vehicles registerd in minn all pay a $20 road tax,I suspect this fee will rise, then we also pay .25 gasoline tax at the pump, this too will rise as our dipshit gov anounced tax increases yesterday.,so for electric vehicles our state will hit our electric energy increase/tax.never ending.

i'm going to guess something like what snow said. There will/should be an additional fee to register and renew an electric vehicle. But in all reality, the electric cars that are out now are doing minimal damage to the roads. Anything less than 10,000 lbs is negligible.
