Not enough, stand him in the street and run him over

Just like this piece shit that beat his wife to death in front of their kids. Fuck life in prison just beat him the same as he did his wife.

West Fargo man sentenced to life in wife’s death

FARGO (KVRR) – A West Fargo man who beat his wife to death has been sentenced to life in prison without parole.

Spencer Moen was convicted of murder in the death of his wife, Sonja Moen.

Members of Sonja Moen’s family made heart-breaking statements on how Sonja’s death has impacted them and the Moen’s three children. Each recommended the maximum sentence life in prison without parole.

Spencer Moen was seen wiping away tears while listening to each of the family’s statements during the hearing. His attorneys had requested a sentence of 20 years.

Cass County District Judge Nicholas Chase said Moen had multiple opportunities to end his assault on Sonja, or to seek help for Sonja while she lay dying in a bathtub.

After Moen was convicted in October, his attorney, Richard Varianno, said based on evidence-related issues, he believes Moen has a good case for an appeal.

It won’t be that long as he and his daddy’s money will appeal his sentence or he will get parole after 2 years because the prisons are full

The guy from West Fargo already said he will appeal his sentencing because he wants to be with his kids.

Bring back “an eye for an eye” maybe some of these assholes would think twice about what they do.

I believe since it did not go to trial and he pled guilty he cannot appeal. Violent crimes he has to do at least 80% of his sentence. It doesn’t appear mom or dad were helping him much at all while he’s in custody. Hence him having a court appointed attorney.

Couple of things. 1. As I recall, the earlier thread was filled with people saying he would simply just get off. Obviously, that is not the case. I'd bet he serves 15+ before he gets a sniff at parole.

2. Not a chance. Something in these people just snaps, and they are in way past the point of using reason. A not-local example, but a gal in my organization is now having her whole life uprooted, having to move back home to be with her parents because her husband of XX years snapped while being home and in charge of caring for two newborn boys (just a couple weeks old). He couldn't placate them and stop them from crying, so he just snapped and now those two babies are brain damaged to the point they will need life-long care. They already had a 3 year old, but something that one day with those two baby boys went horribly awry. No way do I think (and I don't know him) that he woke up one morning and said to himself that today is a good day to maim my two sons for life.

From Wiki...

Bath salts (also called psychoactive bath salts, PABS[1][2]) are a group of recreational designer drugs.[3][4] The name derives from instances in which the drugs were disguised as bath salts.[5][6][7] The white powder, granules, or crystals often resemble Epsom salts, but differ chemically. The drugs' packaging often states "not for human consumption" in an attempt to circumvent drug prohibition laws.[5] Additionally, they may be described as "plant food", "powdered cleaner", or other products.

Drugs

[edit]
Bath salts usually contain cathinones, typically methylenedioxypyrovalerone (MDPV, also known as "monkey dust", although this term can refer to MDPHP as well[8]), methylone or mephedrone; however, the chemical composition varies widely[6][9] and products labeled with the same name may also contain derivatives of pyrovalerone or pipradrol. In Europe the main synthetic cathinone is mephedrone, whereas in the US MDPV is more common.[6]

Pharmacology

[edit]
Pharmacologically, very little is known about how bath salts interact with the brain and how they are metabolized by the body. Scientists are inclined to believe that bath salts have a powerful addictive potential and can increase users' tolerance.[7][10] They are similar to amphetamines in that they cause stimulant effects by increasing the concentration of monoamines such as dopamine, serotonin, and norepinephrine in synapses.[7][11] They are generally less able to cross the blood brain barrier than amphetamines due to the presence of a beta-keto group that increases the compound's polarity.[7]

Usage

[edit]
Bath salts can be ingested orally, snorted, smoked, plugged or injected. Bath salts can be detrimental to human health and can potentially cause erratic behavior, hallucinations, and delusions.[12] This is often due to their wakefulness-promoting effect, leading to insomnia.

Interaction with alcohol

[edit]
Bath salts are often consumed concurrently with alcohol. A 2015 study[13] has investigated the interrelation between mephedrone and alcohol, focusing on psychostimulant and rewarding effects. It showed that alcohol, at low (non-stimulant) doses, significantly enhances the psychostimulant effects of mephedrone. This effect is mediated by an increase in synaptic dopamine, as haloperidol, but not ketanserin, was capable of blocking the potentiation by alcohol.[citation needed]

Subjective effects

[edit]
Bath salts or monkey dust come in a powdered or crystallised form which can be swallowed, smoked, injected or snorted. Subjective effects are similar to MDMA or cocaine[14] but with a duration of 5–6 hours. Both substances cause a rapid onset of action in the central nervous system,[15] and stimulant toxicity.

Well shiite, I could have went the rest of the year without knowing the definition of "plugged".:sick::sick:

I once busted my hockey stick over my best friends head, as we were playing some outdoor neighborhood hockey with the rest of the kids in the hood. He kept slashing me on a friendly game with no pads. I said " next time you whack me in the legs with your stick, I am going to bust this over your head".
He apparently thought I would not, as soon as I said that he hit me in the legs with his stick. Well I wound up and whacked him on the top of his head sending him to the ice immediately. Thank God all he had was a lump on his noggin and it ended okay.

I was not trying to kill my buddy, and had no intention of it going the way it did, but just like said above, I lost my ability to control myself at that very moment. Never happened again, and am too old and fat to play hockey anymore...

He did retaliate a few days later, so I feel as though it all came out in the wash..
