I can't wrap my head around waiting 5-7yrs between tags and then using equipment I didn't take the time to learn to take full advantage of???

While on the other hand, some of us can't wrap our heads around the dedication other guys put into rifles, scopes, ballistics, hitting the range. We get passionate with other things. I think a guy can only be super-into so many things at once.

I'm just glad I have some of you super into it experts to assist me when I do need advice/guidance.

A shore fisherman can be just as in love with fishing as the big sparkly guys - but he can't wrap his head around spending $90K on a fishing boat.

Also - Captain is looking NOW for ammo to sling.

A lot of guys will look around for a box the night before they head west. lol
Compared to some guys, Ahab is overprepping.

That 127LRX in the 6.5-300Wby vs. say a 100gn .257 projectile @ 3300 in the 25-06 nets a whopping 25-30yds extra MPBR.

So, what is the good or the bad with Leupold's turret system with their VX6? Really curious.

I have two of these.
The good: They seem to work well. They track well out past 1000 yards, and return to zero.
The less good: They are more of a "hunting" turret, and not a true "tactical" turret. For example, there's no way to set the zero stop below zero, no revolution indicator, etc.
The bad: The little turret lock buttons do work, but not as well as I'd like. I have trouble with the windage turret getting bumped. However, I shoot left handed and carry the rifle on my left side with that turret rubbing against my coat and pack, so that may not be a problem for others.
