Does anyone know why there are no .257 bullets anywhere to be found?

I have these, one missing!

So I was doing some reloading during the snow storm. I was trying to get my new 7MM dies set up and I messed up a few cases when seating the bullets. What are you guys using for pulling bullets? I have used the bullet puller that you pound on the floor, which works if you are going to do a couple, but was wondering what everyone uses that is handy and quick when needing to redo several shells?

I have gone through a half dozen of the type you pound for removing the bullet. I also have the collet type and it's slow and deform many bullets. Years ago I bought this one. It's fast and doesn't deform bullets as often. It comes in two caliber group sizes and runs about $30. Well it did ten years ago.:) Put your cartridge in the shell holder, run it through the top of your press, grip it. then push your press hand upwards. 20220416_103026.jpg 20220416_103109.jpg

I use the collet type from RCBS and it works fine for me. Very little damage to the bullets once set to grab the largest part of the bullet.

The one pictured from Prairieghost looks interesting and pretty simple as well.

Anyone have any 6.5mm Hornady 123gr SST they would sell?
I'm trying to come up with a deer load for my brothers Grendel, and it's looking good, but I may have less than 40 left when I'm done. While you can get all the 140-class bullets you want, 6.5 bullets in the Grendel range (<130gr) are still quite scarce.

Yes, and Grafs has 123 ELDM as well, which I would have no problem shooting at game, but I'd rather use a proper "hunting" bullet so my bullet selection isn't blamed for a lost animal when we all know it was poor shot placement.

I have a full box (20) of 300 Remington Premier Ultra Mag shells. They are 180 Gr swift scirocco bonded. Would like $50. I also have some 410 shotgun shells. I have 24 3 inch Remington Express long range 4 shot/11/16 oz shot, I have 7 3 inch Federal 4 shot 11/16 oz, and 2 Federal 3 inch 71/2 shot. These aren't in a box so I don't know the shot size. Would like $15 for all of the 410 shells. Don't know how old these are but the Remington box has a price tag of $7.97. I'm in Menoken. 701-400-8273.

Last night Scheels in Fargo had several pounds of H4831 (regular cut), CFE Black, and couple others. The 4831 caught my eye because I haven't seen it in years.

Hornady bullet selection looked better than I've seen in a long time, and they seemed to have a lot more Nosler options -- but I didn't look that close because I refuse to pay double for bullets that offer no advantages over 'big red'.

Rifle ammo selection continues to improve. I saw 6mm ARC for the first time.
Of course they have all the 9mm and 223 ammo you could ever want, and have for a while now, but apparently it hasn't sat there long enough to get marked down to pre-retard prices yet.

Sweeney,

I would be interested in the Retumbo if you are willing to trade for H4350. I think powdervalley.com and hodgdon.com both have H4831 in stock right now if you aren't looking for the SC stuff. I also have some Federal 215's and maybe some CCI LR Mag primers i might be able to part with if you are hurting for them worse than the H4350. I won't make it to mandan until Saturday though as i'm located in Washburn.
